However, if you google javaforosx2014-001.dmg, the first link should be to the download page at Apple. I could not paste the link to the Apple web site here for some reason. Quickbooks was finally able to register and I’m up and running. It says it is for Lion, but I downloaded it and installed it on a brand new iMac running Yosemite. I finally found a version of Java 6 for Mac on the Apple support web site. However, Java 6 for Mac was not distributed by Oracle and is not on the Java web site. I downloaded and installed Java directly from the Oracle website and had the same problem: Quickbooks would say I needed Java, and then would shut down when I clicked “Java Installed.”Īn answer to another question on these boards lead me to understand that QB works with Java 6. Apparently Quickbooks Pro 2011 for Mac does not play well with the current version 8 of Java.
